Yes we seem to be having this very problem .. Not sure if it is related
to HF1 for 7.04 or what but sure is a problem never the less.

To upgrade just the web pages requires changing files in one directory
(\IMail\web) that is separate from anything else. Even if they somehow
wiped out all the subdirectories within the \IMail\web directory, it
wouldn't hurt the users' E-mail.

If they were doing an IMail upgrade (from one version to another), it
would replace files in the \IMail directory. But, the install program
takes care of that.

I have never heard of an upgrade wiping out E-mail. The only way I can
think of to wipe out all users' E-mail -- without introducing other
problems -- would be to accidentally delete the \IMail\users directory
or \IMail\example.com directory. If they did either of those without
having a backup that they took right before they did it, it sounds like
a good time to shop for a new hosting company.

Before sticking with them, ask yourself this question: If they wiped
out the payment information of all their customers, would they stop
billing you or would they find some way of getting the data back?
