Here's an interesting problem in a couple of parts.
Yesterday, out of the blue, Imail 6.02 started screwing up, wouldn't accept
passwords, mail services were intermittant and it finally crashed hard.
We called Ipswitch and there wasn't anything they could do to resolve the
issue. What happened was a miss-spelled domain was duplicated somehow, and
when the miss-spelled domain was deleted it also took the primary domain
with it. Totally screwed up the registry and Imail wouldn't accept the
backup from the day before, it failed every attempt to restore it.
After 12 hours of repairing NT, apply SP6 again, and re-installing 6.02 we
are still having some password problems with some of the virtual domains,
and the web interface doesn't work. This is a totally new installation
using 4 IP's for the high volume domains and IPless virtual domains for the
rest.
