[IMail Forum] what causes malformed headers?

I've been struggling with this problem of invisible mail, which is presumably due to 
"malformed headers."  Basically, Outlook
Express doesn't like the look of some messages and refuses to download them with IMAP. 
 My question is: is there any chance that
IMail is causing the malformed headers?  That is, does IMail do anything to the 
messages that it stores?  I just want to be 100%
sure when I put the blame on Microsoft.
