>Does this mean that if reverse dns is mail.mydomaine.com and the server >identify himself as mydomain.com, i may one day run into trouble ? >if yes, how can i let the server respond as mail.mydomain.com, but still get >reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I've come to the conclusion, and it took a long time, that Ipswitch's mail.domain.com recommendation as mail host name is totally, utterly useless. T O T A L L Y even C O U N T E R freaking P R O D U C T I V E !! misleading, screwey, unexplained, unjustified, weird, misinformed, dumb@ss I think EVERYBODY would be much happier, from day one, and even from today if you've already committed the mail.domain.com crime, if the Imail host name was ONLY domain.com. Drop mail.whatever as Imail mail host name and see how much simpler your life will be. Birds will sing, sun will shine, the butterflies will flit, the breezes will waft, the girls will flirt!!
