No -- the E-mail server can't get infected when people open viruses (either
with their mail client or web messaging). If they open the virus, there is
a chance that the virus could spread (typically depending on whether or not
they use Outlook). But if it does spread, it would get caught on the
mailserver if it has virus protection (Declude Virus, IMail AntiVirus,
WebShield running on the server, etc.).
Note that with web messaging, the actual virus file would be on the hard
drive of the mailserver temporary (without web messaging, it would only be
on the hard drive in an encoded format). However, since it will not be
executed, it will not harm the mailserver.
