We are using 8.01 eval version and have about 11 rdns servers to query as part of the blacklist test. It seems to query the servers ok but in checking the results of 1 ip that it let through, it was found to in fact be on 127.0.0.4 from relays.osirusoft.com. When queried manually

 C:\>nslookup 51.45.158.207.relays.osirusoft.com
Server: ns1.mindspring.com
Address: 207.69.188.185

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: 51.45.158.207.relays.osirusoft.com
Address: 127.0.0.4

it reponds that it is on the list. My question do these check use RDNS when asking relays for example or does it just give it a straight ip and not the reverse? Thanks

You seem to be a bit confused. "RDNS" is shorthand for "Reverse DNS", which is completely separate from ip4r-style spam database lookups (although they look very similar). For example, I'm not sure what you mean about having "11 rdns servers".

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=207.158.45.51 does indeed show that 207.158.45.51 (I assume that's the IP you are looking up -- if you aren't familiar with spam databases, you might have been trying to look up the IP 51.45.158.207 incorrectly) is listed in OSSRC.

In this case, I would suggest checking the log file to see what is happening.
