Title: Message
Come on John,

This is the Imail list.  When someone coming to the IMAIL list for support services does not want to hear as the first response to his problem with IMAIL is to get a DECLUDE product.  What sense does that make?  At least be courteous and help the poster with his problem with the product at hand and on the list for which the product is intended.  Most problems people would prefer to fix without spending more money - period.  John, don;t get so darn defensive, it's simply polite and this list is intended for helping people with Imail.  Is there not a list where people go to ask questions about Declude?  I would think so.  If not, then at the very least a list should be made available.  More than once in the past month or so people have been miffed that the response to their problem is to get product A to fix their problem with Imail.  People bought Imail and were told that attachments could be filtered with rules.  As a result, they come here trying to find the answer as to how to do it.

Are you the list admin?  You sure seem to take on the role of list admin.  Why don't you post then, your rules for posting to this list?  Maybe some rules could include direct your questions to list name here if you have questions regarding other products.  Or at the very least use an OT.  If all these posts are going to include Declude, then Imail had damn well include it in my next download - for free.  I try to help people here as much as anyone.  Granted my skill set is not as vast of most of yours, but simple courtesy goes along way.

So let me get this straight. If someone asks a question, and the best or alternative solution is a different product from someone other than Ipswitch, it should not be mentioned on this list?

Sorry, but I have never head of a list where you could only talk about the vendors products and that other vendors products were never to be mentioned.

Advising of a solution is not advertising. The only one that can advertise Declude is Declude. Anyone else mentioning it gets no payment for doing so. We do it in an effort to help one other by sharing our experiences.

I couldn't agree more.  Please advertise on the Declude list.  He was obviously looking for an answer with Imail as a solution, not "Man, should I get Declude."

Since no one will answer any questions I pose, I will take the unpopular position and tell you IMail can function without declude.

Putting this line in the rules.ima manually and restarting the service or putting it in through the wizard would work.

B~(name"message.exe"):NUL

If you want it in a temp inspection bin, replace NUL with that address

Again, why Ipswitch has let this turn into the declude list is amazing.

Is it possible to block this specific file from ever getting to the end user?
