Title: Message
Just a wild idea...

Although not the cleanest solution but what if you just install a virus protection software and have it watch the spool directory.

If the virus software detects the virus it will delete it.. I know nobody will be notified but at least you know you are 100% protected.

F-Prot will do this easily and it costs $50.

it is not as clean as being able to delete the virus and notify the recipient but it gives you the peace of mind that your spool is clean.

We use F-Prot quite successfully and it detects the sobig & the Message.zip effectively.  Again this is not clean but blocking the attachment in IMail may not be 100% effective... Just a thought...

Does this work with files with different names like message.scr or message.zip etc...?

Thanks,

Lew

Since no one will answer any questions I pose, I will take the unpopular position and tell you IMail can function without declude.

Putting this line in the rules.ima manually and restarting the service or putting it in through the wizard would work.

B~(name"message.exe"):NUL

If you want it in a temp inspection bin, replace NUL with that address

Again, why Ipswitch has let this turn into the declude list is amazing.

Is it possible to block this specific file from ever getting to the end user?

Thank you,
