Maybe not everyone has the time like you to read all 1,000 emails to this list in the last week-but have a question and need NOW and would like an answer besides get declude.

Yes, declude and IMail can work together. However the response was that you needed Declude to do it - when all that is needed is 25 or less characters in rules.ima.

The person who posted the original E-mail said "Is it possible to block this specific file from ever getting to the end user?" That's all they said -- they didn't even say which version of IMail they have, or if they have IMail AntiVirus or Declude Virus.

It is *impossible* to give an answer to that question that lets them accurately do what they want without IMail. There are ways to accomplish it most of the time with IMail, but an addon of some sort is requiring to get detect the message.zip file with 100% (or close to it) accuracy. And, since there is a very good chance that the poster is running Declude Virus, it isn't inappropriate to mention it.

And no, no one has answered any simple questions I have asked about rules such as filtering 18+ without catching all 18's and %digitdigit as spammer, but we have heard alot about how to make declude work.

That's probably because it can't be done. I didn't respond because I know very little about the inner workings of IMail filters, because I rarely ever use them.

Don't get mad if nobody responds to one of your questions. If nobody responds, try posting it again. Often, when someone says "I just posted this a few days ago but got no response", I'll say "Oh! I thought someone else was going to answer that, and forgot all about it... I'll respond to this one."

Thus, I will try and post when I can with info of how to make IMail work without pushing to spend more money, knowing my questions will not be answered by the declude is god gang.

Feel free to post responses that let people accomplish things for free. Heck, whenever someone tells us that spammers are sending mail through their mailserver and that they want to buy our Declude Hijack, the first thing we do is tell them they can probably use the IMail anti-relay settings to do the same thing for free. :) It doesn't work in 100% of cases (for example, if you have a spammer for a user, or if a spammer guesses a password), but for most people the anti-relay settings are fine.

We do have a lot of customers here who mention Declude whenever there is a good reason to. As far as I know, Ipswitch doesn't have a problem with that, just so long as it is done appropriately.
