Dan,

I wish that the monitoring service could be used on a separate box
(preferably at a different location), that way there would still be a way of
knowing whether the services included could be reached from the "real"
world. I have gotten the most use out of it by monitoring our back-up mail
server at a different location. It can check any IP address, regardless of
whether it is connected to your network or not.
