Here is an update. The same thing just happened. All NP POOL counts were the same. The number of processes remained between 37 and 39. Instead of rebooting I disabled then enabled the NIC. That fixed the problem.
Could this problem be the result of a bad NIC? No software nor changes have been made to the server. One more thing. 2 people complained that all their e-mail kept on the mail server has been copied down again. This happens each time I reboot do to this problem. They both running Eudora.
