I've seen this behavior when the primary domain has an invalid IP, or the IP is set as the external IP yet the box is behind the NAT and the port for LDAP was not allowed to pass. Normally the slow login means the LDAP communication is not working and is timing out.

Wow what a mess. Since we upgraded to 8.10 we are having a truk load of problems.
1. Everything is super slow. As I read it seems that most of the slow performance is caused by LDAP service.
a. IMail administrator is so slow each time I want to display user information, but is quite normal when I ask information about services or settings for Anti-spam or stuff like that
b. The webmail and webcallendar takes ages to log you on, but once your
logged
everything is fine... unless you try to administer users or hosts.
I have the same symptoms on my 8.10 box. With the errors in the event log "The description for Event ID ( 1281 ) in Source ( OpenLDAP-slapd ) cannot be found" also "The description for Event ID ( 1280 ) over and over again.
I tried resyncing re-initing reloading etc.. no luck. Admin is slow as molasses, the web login takes about 2 minutes to log you in. Something is very wrong with ldap.
