It is indeed handy to perform remote-to-local and local-to-remote archiving on non-mailbox servers. However, SEC archiving compliance requires that local-to-local mail be archived as well. If the mailbox server (as in most installations) is the first hit for local-to-local, it must be involved. IMail's copy-to feature enabled for local-to-local only, and delivering to a mailbox on a non-mailbox server performing the other archival duties, is an applicable hybrid solution. Note that this only refers to the initial archiving process; dual archives and remote, independent, search-optimized access to the archives are often mandated as well. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange Addresses into IMail Aliases! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
