My understanding is that ICS is simply the current products packaged together with a rather fat price tag. We already have good open source mail software, stuff that kicks IMail's a**. We've decided to stick with IMail 7, and providing SMTP standards don't change in the forseeable future, and providing Declude is still usable with IMail and some enormous security issue doesn't come up which IMail won't provide a fix for, we'll continue using the product. I don't see any need to panic, run out, buy another mail product just because Ipswitch has decided to change gears. It's their product, their perogative. They aren't cancelling any service agreements, and they'll continue to support them. We've run for four years (or thereabouts) without any service agreement, and between this list and hardwon experience, we've had no need to. The last major disaster was handled with a separate solution, which may, if IMail no longer serves the purpose, serve as a springboard to Postfix. I'm not sure why this has caused such a run on the bank here. I can see those who have functionality which has never worked properly in IMail having a fit, and Ipswitch deserves to be derided for that (this is hardly a new thing with them, btw). For an ISP like ourselves, we don't even use the extra functionality in IMail 7, so it's not like we were likely to upgrade irregardless. -- A.
