Mark, I was wondering about this particular comment...
> This doesn't mean that it's safe to do foolish things such as access > mix over NFS (which disables locking). Mix dodges a lot of bullets; > but it's best not to fire bullets at it in the first place.... ;-) Is MIX any more or less susceptible to problems over NFS than mbox format? I ask because we run an NFS environment off of several current generation NetApp boxes with no problems for many, many years serving 10's of thousands of users. Besides UW-imap, sendmail writes messages using procmail. Despite warnings about potential NFS problems this system has worked extremely well and I was wondering if there was anything that would make MIX more or less susceptible to NFS difficulties as compared with mbox which we currently use. thanks, David -- David Severance Network and Academic Computing Services (949) 824-7552 [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Imap-uw mailing list Imap-uw@u.washington.edu https://mailman1.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/imap-uw
