Fix the incorrect definition in the include file, and file a bug with the maintainers of glibc so that it is fixed in subsequent glibc updates. That way, the problem gets fixed in ALL libraries and applications that use select().

It should not require "elite knowledge" to conclude that the remedy is to be found by fixing the glibc bug. It just requires common sense.
If you do not know how to fix the glibc bug -- a one-line edit in a system include file -- then find someone who does.
