Many bank / credit sites use it.
In Korea most banks require ActiveX. (there was an article about that
recently... ah, thanks google:

If my bank used Java in its application, I would switch bank (not
kidding either).
Actually I would prefer the security of Java over ActiveX (and flash)
anyday.
Flash (though probably never open source) is required. Though 90% of
sites just use it for annoying ads or intro screens :(
