With 2.1.4, I am able to install the Guest Addition. However, Build 107 now

As AlanC (?) mentioned in a separate thread, Build 107 involves major (an
understatement) changes in X.org, many problems are expected. I know I'll be
darned for saying this, but we probably should not bother to file bug report
(save the efforts for latter build(s) ).
I gave a list of the problems expected from the X.Org build - failure to boot is
not one of them. There's only a small window left to get fixes in for the
2009.06 release (a few more weeks for non-stopper bug fixes), so if you hit a
bug that isn't on the list I posted, you need to file a bug report or there
won't be time to fix it by the time it's reported later.
Woah, well as far as I can see, 107 is completely busted, to the point
of being unusable. There is the keyboard issue, which has to be a
show-stopper (like I can't find the pipe symbol on my UK keyboard). I
know there's a workaround for that, but the fact is that the whole
system freezes up on me, as in all the windows, including terminal
sessions, get greyed out in the "window not responding" way. No echoing
to keyboard input, no nothing. Only one window, a dialogue window, is
not greyed out, but is blank. This for me is completely reproduceable,
just trying to detach an attachment in thunderbird. Not a specific
attachment, either, it's happened with multiple emails. The machine is
a Sun one. I'm off on holiday now so don't have much time to diagnose
the problems, and it sounds like it doesn't happen for everybosy, but
the comment of there being only a small window of time is a bit scary.
System Configuration: Sun Microsystems Sun Ultra 40 M2 Workstation
BIOS Configuration: Phoenix Technologies Ltd. 1.20 04/24/2007
I've had to go back to 106 to get any work done before I go away.
