We ALL understand that. But my main point is:

"I am vehemently pissed off by not seeing a warning on the release notes about
build 107 not being to boot from VirtualBox. A lot of my time was
unproductively wasted. But I am more concerned about its implications.

"I can understand it perfectly well if I ran into booting problem with certain
machine(s). But with VirtualBox, we are supposed to have full knowledge of all
the virtual hardware devices and their associated drivers. OTOH, this is not
just an ordinary virtualization software, but something that has been
increasingly acknowledged as the best tool for desktop virtualization. I think
it is somewhat inexcusable that a build was released without first going
through the best virtualization software.

"The fact that VirtualBox and OpenSolaris have a common ownership also should
not be ignored. Many of my friends have told me that once they tried VirtualBox
on their favorable Linux distro, either as a guest or host, or both, they will
be eager to try OpenSolaris. Let's hope that we will not disappoint those who
are similarly minded."

AFAIC, there is no excuse why such a boot problem--when running os0906_107 as a
Vista guest under VirtualBo--was not mentioned in the Release Notes. But
that's just my opinion. Some people value certain aspects of OpenSolaris more
highly than other parts. I am utterly disappointed--for sure not by the
failure to boot--but by the specific underlying circumstance that this failure
occurred and, more particularly, by the fact that this was not considered
important enough to be mentioned. But again, everyone has his/her priority. I
certainly have sinned by using a language that is too strong for the taste, but
this also underscores the frustrations that I had gone through.
