Bug reporting is important, but personally I think it is equally
important that some of us be forewarned about certain build(s)--and
share the info--so we can make optimized choice of our time as to
whether we should save our efforts for subsequent builds.

We try to document the known issues with each build via the release
notes. In many cases, some of the issues won't be seen from internal
testing for whatever reason (lack of certain hardware, limited testing
in other locales, different set of packages installed). As each set of
release notes document:

IMPORTANT NOTE: The development builds have undergone limited
testing and users should expect to uncover issues as the next
release is developed. Bug reports and requests for enhancement

On this particular build, I believe the cause that stopped me from
completing the booting process in VirtualBox is related to X. Since X is undergoing through major revamping, I think it will be better for me
to wait until this matter is somewhat settled, especially when the
issue involves booting problems. Of course, things will be different
if we have infinite amount of time.

Removing the guest additions package (using pkgrm SUNWvboxguest) gets to a working X easily enough once you remove the Rgbpath line from xorg.conf. I'm a little stunned at the lack of co-ordination on this one though - it's a pretty crappy experience for anyone upgrading.
