Infact, you can. If you switch between styles that use different engines while Ion is running, both are loaded. If some region doesn't release its hold on a brush when requested to do so (region_updategr), it can still use the previous style and engine. There, however, should not be two engines that export the same symbols at the same time. I don't know/remember what kind of patch the Ion2 patch is, but the xftde could be quite small and depend on the normal de by inheritance and so on. Dig the list archives for details. -- Tuomo
