I suspect you'll find the ICAO pronunciation is in more common use than the ITU pronunciations among english speakers. Since english is the preferred language for RFCs, if you feel you need to list one example of phonetic alphabet, then the ICAO version seems more appropriate. Personally, in all my years of playing with radios, I've never heard the ITU pronunciation used over the air.
