Hopefully they map to a similar range. I don't have an msp3400 datasheet, so I can't tell if this my patch will match up with the older PVR cards from top to bottom of the volume control.

Yeah that was my fall back plan. I don't want to have to resort to that if possible, since it requires setting a module parameter and the less we can require that the better. There is also a third option: Adjust the AVC to automatically normalize the audio to an acceptable volume.
