I agree that the
end task menu should be accessible, but let's keep things in
perspective. Closing the apps on the task bar is sufficient to prevent
damaging your system when installing software. The only time you're
likely to use alt control delete is when the machine locks up or won't
shut down properly. In short, in's nice to have but you won't use it
every day. In theory you're right. The operating system should be
fully accessible before working on individual applications. But in
practice, this is not a good policy. People buy computers for the
applications not the OS. Otherwise an inferior system like Windows
wouldn't be so popular. I know, for example, that I got much more use
and benefit from the IE4 scripts than I ever could have gotten out of
being able to access the end task menu.
By the way, access to the internet is much better with IE4 than with
IE3 or Netscape. I know because i've used all 3 programs extensively.
