First off, I changed the frequency reset to zero, but that did not help
either. I still get split words. I am using the ssil driver that came
with openbook. The words still split. Turning off the ascii characters
will not keep the dectalk from crashing. I have always had my ascii
characters turned off.
Now, I posted a message that I got from the dectalk people, as to what to
do about the dectalk crashing, and this worked for me. My dectalk can now
read those accented characters without crashing, but I still have the word
splitting problem.
