How did you resolve the acute high ANSI crash? I somehow missed
that.
I spoke to Rich Ring yesterday from the Technology Center in
Baltimore Maryland. He said, yes, DECtalk does have a problem, he
has the same thing happening on his machine. There is no known
solution. Compaq is not willing to suport the product nor are they
willing to put any time or money into re-developing a driver for the
DECtalk PC. I guess we will have to hope that someone with the skills
and knowledge, will consider, re-writing the driver to correct this.
Rich Ring told me that the most stable driver that ever existed for the
DECtalk PC synth was pc1v42b.exe. Now, Louis at Arkenstone told me
to install that very driver with my PC2v42c DECtalk. Rich says it
won't work but someone might want to try this. The pc1v42b.exe driver
is available from the digital.com site. Has anyone tried this driver
with a PC2V42c version of DECtalk?
I believe in persistence and if we hammer at this, we might get a
solution. The DECtalk PC card is saperior to any synth I have used,
all we need is a driver that works correctly.
Again, would be interested in how you stopped theANSI Crash.
