Doug,
Well, to answer your question, no, I do not miss having access to the
system (pc) cursor in Outlook Express. In fact, I have Outlook 98
installed on my pc and have used it, and I've found it more cumbersome
in that regard. I prefer Outlook Express because it reads the
messages to me automatically without even having to hit the
INSERT-PAGEDOWN command.
I have to read an awful lot of email every day because I subscribe to
quite a few active mailing lists and it simply took too much time to
have to initiate a say-all for every message. With Outlook Express, I
simply hit the CTRL-D to delete the current message that I've just
read and the next message begins reading. I can get through a lot of
messages that way. Especially since most have all I need to hear in
the first screen. If not, a tap of the space bar gets me the next
screen of info.
Besides, you only have the system cursor in Outlook 98 in text
messages. Messages formatted in HTML will behave differently, and
they do not begin reading automatically either. At least, Outlook
Express is consistent.
With the proper scripts, Outlook Express 5 is going to be hard to
beat.
