for clarification, also, let me emphasize that the problems of using JAWS
331.35 with virtual cursor turned "on" occur in a single
program--Outlook Express. I have no doubt that the very nice gentleman
who uses on line banking would have more issues--if simple users of Outlook
Express have problems with the virtual cursor on.
At first, I thought "This cannot be happening". so I said nothing and took
notes. In Outlook Express, after doing several copying and paste
operations--the JAWS wouldstart "going crazy". i mean the thing would read
subject lines in such a horrible way that one wanted to hit the computer
with a big mallet!! The subject line which was highlighted would not be
read correctly at all--in fact subject lines were read in twos and the
line that was read *was not the correct one*. I discovered this the hard
way when i was deleting "the wrong messages" but did not know it! So
others on another list --wherei was writing when this started--started to
say "me too!". So I returned to this list and called people on the phone.
That is when users of Netscape found that they could duplicate "JAWS going
crazy".
I simply want the easiest method to get the darn--but wonderful virtual
cursor "turned off" the easiest--and the fastest method!
I feel it is "unfair" for me to have "to go without the virtual cursor"
and its obvious benefits--which I have to go without--when "I am forced"
to turn it off--not by choice! the "best" solution in all worlds would be
to make JAWS so stable that the "JAWS going crazy issue" would *not* be an
issue. I kept calling people; I was told that m s a a does play a big
part in the problem affecting "some" of us. (I should also say quickly
that some people call "JAWS going crazy" a losing focus problem; whatever
it is; it is lousy.)
thanks to every one who wrote me off list, duplicated the "JAWS going
crazy problem" so we would not feel stupid and to those who are working
toward the 'best" solution.
I hoped for a toggle switch since getting a better m s a a may not
happen for years!
