You are correct that you can always toggle the V cursor on and off. In the
situation I described, if I have 3 applications open and jump back and forth
among them, then it requires one to remember to always toggle the cursor
off. In Citibank, I might pay several bills in one computer session.
During the same session, I will be entering the bills I am paying into
Quicken 98. Also, I keep a reminder file of the bills I need to pay in a
text editor. So there is a lot of back and forth among those 3
applications. Any time I am paying a bill, which I would do 1 bill at a
time, I have to turn off the V cursor each time I am in the bill paying
section, or the system will crash. Now, I could go into Config Manager and
turn it off permanently each time I use Citibank for bill paying, but then
it has to be turned on each time that session is completed. A permamnent
toggle to keep the V cursor off even if focus is switched to another
application would be useful in a situation such as the one I am describing.
AT this point, any time focus is returned to IE5, the V cursor is
automatically switched back on; it doesn't stay off. It's just another
thing to remember, and if one forgets, then one's system will crash. Now,
in the new beta, if this is fixed, at least for me, it will solve a major
annoyance when paying bills. I'm hoping this may have been addressed.
We'll certainly know as soon as I make a bill payment.
