Thank youfor your help to so many of us.
I want the ability of using "insert z" but having "it work!".
In Outlook Express, I cannot keep the virtual cursor "off" long enough. With
the virtual cursor "on" in Outlook Express, the JAWS 331.35 is so unstable
that it looses focus and problems occur. I had written the list here and
another list when others had the same problems. People wrote me off list
that to make 331.35 stable--one can use Insert z to turn off the virtual
cursor. That works only fora few messages. then the v cursor turns back
"on". but that hampers my functionality and using patterns. There are
times when being able to "quickly as is easily turn on and off the
virtual cursor would be a real plus. So using config Manager makes it too
much of a "final" choice and removes the spontaneous usage of the v
cursor.
Many people either do not use the v cursor in reading e-mail messages or
they have not had the focus problems or they have not tried turning off v
cursor in Outlook Express and timing how soon it switches back "on". the
point is when I do need the virtual cursor--I need it "now!". so
turning it off for the entire session defeats the purpose. And most of the
time, it should stay off for more stability.
I want a toggle switch that extends the time that "insetrt z" would keep the
virtual cursor "off" without having to do the extra steps.
Now if HJ can make this beta more stable---then--someo f us might not have
to struggle with the virtual cursor and making it stay "off". Obviously,i
would prefer to use the virtual cursor--as in having my cake and eating it
too.
but that is not the choice. I am a lousy beta tester. But I bring up the
idea of a toggle switch. I regret I did not think of it earlier. but it
took me weeks, Mr. Ford, to figure out if (1) I was alonewith the "JAWS
going crazy" (reading/focus) problem and (2) how to solve it--i. e. turn
off virtual cursor. But then I don't have the ability to use virtual
cursor "on the fly". that is where the toggle switch would be the superior
solution so we could grab it and use virtual cursor "on the fly" at our
convenience!
All of the above relates to stability/focus problems and is one's desire to
get around them.
