General user information:
1) There is a greater range of zoom in 10.1, especially when you
set perspectiveDepth OFF
2) A bug exists and will be left in 10.1 for now that makes
set picking CENTER
[user clicks atom #23]
different from
center (atomno=23)
This has to do with the fact that "set picking CENTER/[user clicks]"
isn't rescaling the model to fit the screen the way "center" does.
Frieda-specific information:
Unless you somehow knew about the undocumented "Frieda switch", ignore
the rest of this message.
Here's where we stand, Frieda:
3) The former
set frieda ON
is now
set windowCentered OFF
4) The bug referred to above (2) exists and will be left in 10.1 for now
that makes
set windowCentered OFF
and
set picking CENTER
incompatible, because it also results in the setting of windowCentered
being ignored. .
5) A bug exists and will be left in 10.1 for now that makes
set windowCentered OFF
allow for improper scaling, as you noticed when you rotated a model 180
degrees and saw it "zoom way up". This, too, is and easy fix, but we
have left it UNFIXED for now. That fix created the
"camera-moving-out-of-the-way" effect specifically and only with "set
windowCenetered OFF".
The feeling on this end was that fixing all of these bugs at once was
just a little too much change for now.
But we'll address these immediately after release of 10.1. Look for
10.1.01, I guess.
In short, I consider both
set picking CENTER
and
set windowCentered OFF
broken, but easily fixable.
That zip file I referred to earlier, Frieda, DOES have these fixes, so
if you try those .jar files and have some feedback for us, please to let
us know.

Can you be a little more specific about this?
Comparing 10.00.59 to 10.00.60, it seems to me that the "camera moving
out of the way" effect described by Bob has been removed from
10.00.60, and the zoom levels seem quite a bit lower as well. Do these
have to go hand-in-hand? What other behaviors are encompassed by the
perhaps-somewhat-too-personally-named phrase above?
Right, we didn't hear from you, and from others we didn't heard enough
positive feedback about that camera moving idea (even though,
presumably, no one else has ever used "set frieda ON" -- I may be wrong
there), so we decided to put it on hold.
