Aloha Kate and welcome back we missed you. I don't know if I told you, but
when Mikey was only 18mos. old we went to Hawaii and stayed on Oahu for a
few days and then 5 days in Maui. I wanted to check out the other islands
but there was no time. I had a really good time there, but I was struck with
how expensive it is (always true on an island I guess) and how touristy. It
seemd like EVERYONE gets a rental car with their deal which is screwy.
Traffic was crazy on Maui esp. since we were there during that total solar
eclipse. We stressed about where to go see it on the island and wather to go
to the south tip (supposedly the best place) or up to Haleakala or to rent a
boat and go out on the sea. As it turned out wwe stayed right at our hotel
and turned on the tv eearly to wait for the countdown and then opened our
door to the balcony and were able to lay in bed and watch the whole thing
happen (out the door and on TV) b4 the clouds swallowed the whole thing up.
As it turned out almost everywhere on the island was totally clouded up
except where we were. I AM so lucky, but then you ALL knew that! Also we
went to Molokai which was the crecent shaped island off of Maui and went
skin diving. It was beautiful there. I remember that day I had occasion to
try the fabled Maui Wowie and ended up getting lost on that tiny island. Its
TRUE what they say... lmao. It was great to see you and Jeff and the gang in
LA.

Love

Paz

P.S. Alison great to finally hear from you. I thought perhaps you had gone
into seclusion to decompress from SO much fun. Glad you had a good B-Day.
Welcome to the Geriatric ward!
