Welfare or unemployment? Try living on the federal minimum wage of $5.15 per hour!! At 40 hours per week (IF you get to work that many hours) for 52 weeks per year, that's a whopping $10,712 annually. The U.S. minimum wage hasn't been raised since 9/1/97, and everytime it comes up for increase there's a huge effort to disallow it. (Want to guess who's usually behind that effort?) In the wealthiest country on the planet, it's a fecking disgrace. Lori
