Hi Larry,
Yes, this stylus has a button, and tap on screen with button pressed makes
right click. I will try how it feels with Constrained drawing tools.
Another frequently used thing that is tricky with stylus is selecting
visibility from the check box. Layer check box has somehow so strict
tolerances that it is easier to use right click menu for toggling visibility.
All in all, I was surprised about how different it is to use stylus instead of
mouse. For pure stylus work OJ would need quite a different user interface.
With keyboard and stylus it goes rather well even the ergonomy is not best
possible. First step for touch screen users might be to have floating, user
configurable shortcut panel with a bunch of buttons just like the editing
toolbox is now. It might be usable for normal mouse work as well if there is a
need to use often some function that does not have an own button of righ click
menu selection.

Hi Jukka,
Does the stylus have right click capability? The Draw Constrained
Polygon and Linestring tools will end digitizing with a right-click, although
I'm guessing it is difficult at best with a stylus.
I'll look into closing with the enter key, but I think it will not be
easy.

Larry

Hi,
So the meaning of this tool is to complete a polygon that is
touching an existing polygon at two points so that the new polygon follows the
boundaries of an existing polygon without creating overlaps? At leat so it
seems to work. Very nice, and I could imagine real use for that when
digitising new areas, parcels or different landuse etc. But is it intentionally
made in such a way that it does not follow concave boundaries but leaves gaps
between old and new polygons?
By the way, I have been using for some time now OpenJUMP with a
laptop having both keyboard and touchscreen. Stylus is quite a nice and fast
tool for drawing but it has one drawback: double clicking on the touchscreen is
difficult because stylus easily moves a bit between taps. It makes ending of a
feature hard and inaccurate. How about if the line or polygon that is drawn
could be ended ot the last set point by hitting a key on the keyboard, Enter
for example?
