Stefan,

Thank you for all of the hard work looking into this. I think the idea
of joining OSGeo has some good overall support, but it appears, at
least initally, that we lack the muscle to get this done.

I know that you and I could tackle most of the work, but I think have
another person and/or persons willing to throw some time at
administrative duties (like the work needed to join the OSGeo) is a
sign of maturity that our project should wait for.

I know this will dissapoint some of our users, but at this point I'm
going to vote -1. This isn't because I think joining the OSGeo is a
bad idea in itself, but that we need more hands to move the sand bags.
Perhaps we can revisit this issue again if gain more "admin"
volunteers?

P.S. - I don't think the release/development plan will be that tough.
We can document our current policy of "we release when we get enought
new stuff and someone to pacakge the release". So this wouldn't have
to be a show stopper.
