Oh, wait, how is it that one can log into another GUI session on a

If you're using gdm, try gdmflexiserver.
I spoke too soon. Running gdmflexiserver from a virtual terminal only
dropped me back when I tried logging in as the same user. I decided to
turn off my modem and try it again as root (the only other login I have
at the moment), and it worked, a tad slow, but it worked. So I tried
again, same thing, except this time I chose KDE (much more than a tad
slow). It worked also.
The scroll bars in KDE squeeze down to a minimum of about ¼" on my CRT,
15 ½" viewable, at 1024x768 resolution. So, KDE's minimum scrollbar
size is twice as reasonable as Gnome's. For me, ½ or ¼ of KDE's minimum
size would be ideal. The ability to set the minimum size for myself
would be the best.
In an ideal world, I could right-click on the scroll bar and get a popup
menu with the option to edit that preference.
In the same ideal world, a right-click on an open portion of the desktop
would give me options for screen resolution and screensaver settings in
the popup menu instead of having to hunt for them in the menus (even
though WhineDoze had this feature since w95).
In FC8, I *still* haven't been able to find the place to turn on that
mouse finder thingy that happens when you hit the control key. One
would think that it would be accessible from the mouse setting dialog,
or even the keyboard settings, but what do I know? One thing that I did
like (and still do) about WhineDoze is that it makes several logical
paths to the same thing. That said, this is still *not* good enough
reason to go back to it. *Blech!*
