On my KR I used two scales from Wal Mart that were advertized up to 330
pounds and were accurate up to about 370. I calibrated them by using known
weights on our accurate shipping scale at work.

On the Stang I used a digital shipping scale from Office Max that goes up to
400. It is much much better and only cost a little more than $100 IIRC.
Great investment. It is also much stonger on the top and didn't dent and
break like one of my Wal Mart scales. I made a stack of wood that was the
exact same height as the scale for the other wheel and two ramps to roll the
plane up on the scale and wood. I used a digital cheap bathroom scale for
the tailwheel.

If you don't want to invest in the scale keep it in good shape and return
it, but it is well worth the price.

Subject: KR> W & B dilemma

Jerry and I have a dilemma. Our WB gave us very conflicting results with
each scenario that we performed. It had Jerry weighing 35 pounds and me
weighing 37 pounds different from the empty weight.

You guys, WHO HAVE DONE THIS, what did you use to weigh your planes? We are
using 2 bathroom scales with a board over them under each wheel and one
under the tail. The tail weights are consistant and are reasonable, but the
other ones are all over the place.
