Since I've never had to mess with autogas for an airplane, I'm wondering about a portable fuel caddy.

In my 20 years of flying the KR I used auto fuel early on and then many years of getting "free" 100LL from the waste barrel at the airport.  I found that good quality 5 US gallon containers gave the most flexibility and ease of handling.  At one time when I was getting a lot of the "waste" 100LL I had a dozen cans or more of fuel waiting to create the KR grin.  I handled only the number of cans needed for the upcoming flight, was able to get one can at a time to the source if necessary, and I never handled more than 30 pounds at a time.  I'm not sure how convenient a 16 gallon container  would be trying to refuel at the local gas station or airport pump. My biggest problem was finding a good 5 gallon container at a reasonable price.  Filling a 5 gallon container with free 100LL paid for the container on one fill.  Look up and find the simplest check for alcohol in Mo gas (water in a bottle) and find a supplier with a quality product.  Jeff Scott had considerable problems with less that desirable supplier.  If your airport or a nearby airport sells Mogas I'd be inclined to purchase only from them.

As always, YRMV........................

Check with others on your field and see what they use.
