I forgot to mention the small pump I ended up using and they were great when they lasted.  Some brands better than others.  Pumps rated at 1.5 to 2 gallon per minute.  I was amazed how quickly they pumped the can to empty. Battery Operated Kerosene Pump - DH20

Other types of small pumps available also.  If you want to pump a lot of fuel fast, use a small plastic tool box, mount a small Facet pump, a 3 or 4 amp hour battery with require hoses that also store in the box, and an external toggle switch so the unit runs with the cover closed.  The number of options available are only limited by your imagination. 🙂
