Thanks for the link. I followed it and noticed there was an updated version of
hald mentioned on one of them.

# gzip -d hald.gz
# cp hald /usr/lib/hal

# # svcadm restart hal
# digest -a md5 /usr/lib/hal
4ef7af841890fde2a57b2a13031c9856

anyway, installing that one seems to be an improvement.

After I restarted hal, it seems to have realised the battery was not fully
charged, but still thought it was on mains power.

I've just stopped hal and then started it (not restarted) and it seems to have
worked out I am now running on battry power and is decrementing its estimate of
percentage left. But I am not in a position to check it on mains just now.

I did hit an issue in b93 of a panic. I then put the DVD in again, and it
pacicked again. I decided to write a new DVD, just in case, and it solved it.
So I put the problem down to a problem writing the DVD, although there were no
errors reported, I did not verify the image.

Could it be this problem is causing intermittand panics? In the case of b94,
I've tried a couple of DVDs and the panics were 100% repeatable.

Perhaps there is a more urgent issue that needs resolving if this is causing
panics, rather than just missing battery information.
