Well, I'm not planning on making a purchase for a couple months (the $100 rebate expires Jan 1, 2008), so I can't test in real life, but from HP's website (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06b/18972-18972-3328059-14638-3328066-1845551-1845552-1845554.html):
"HP PCL 6, HP PCL 5e, HP Postscript Level 3 emulation" Which suggests that it can do PCL and PS (though I'm not sure what "PS Level 3 Emulation" really means). > If it can support a JetDirect, then maybe you can try the > p9100 LEAF package and point it at /dev/usblp0. I guess I could. Thanks for mentioning that driver. A bit of searching turned up: http://leaf-project.org/doc/bup9100.html which says something interesting: "You don't need me to tell you that shouldn't run a print server on a router." Am I missing something, again? Presumably the concern is that a router is Internet-accessible. Wouldn't I be able to block access from the interface that plugs into my modem and allow access from the internal network? Is this only valid for a large organization (whereI would completely agree; it's safer to run your printers on your internal network)?
