unfortunately people are too often taken in by silk-tongued charlatasn. just look ar the likes of jeffery archer and jonathan aitken and bates falls in the same class. never mind he hasn't spelt out his plan but he's convinved quite a few it's all for the best (and for his sake probably as well he hasn't spelt it out)
