Marilyn, Just a thought - I also use gmail. When you say it says Plain Text, do you mean you are seeing those words in the space just above the body of your e-mail? If yes, then in gmail, that actually means you are in Rich Text (HTML). The wording "Plain Text" is a link to switch to plain text.
