The indexing is just to search and find.  What I'm wrestling with is the citing
once found. ;)
But as an indexer, I am trying very hard to enter what would be most likely to
be found... what would be most likely to be entered as alternate spellings.  And
they have two indexers look at every batch, with someone to arbitrate or decide
when the answers don't match.

To me, it's not so much the quality of the image as the quality of the
indexing.  There are a multitude of errors in the previous census databases on
Ancestry.com (and some in FamilySearch as well, but not as many I believe).
FamilySearch is trying to use indexers who understand the batches they're
working one, particularly re surnames, and other things that might be
misinterpreted.  Marianne
