I think one factor is that penmanship in 1940 was much more like it is today.
 Although there were still some folks that wrote "like doctors" ;)  Since I
started, I've found that I am more conscientious about how I write! ;)

And thanks to everyone who is helping with the indexing etc.  I find     this
is one census that I am finding people in what few indexes are     available
much more easily than in past indexes and I have some very     strange names.
The indexes also make it much easier to fill out the     Legacy templates. So
kudos to all of you.
