Standards/preferences differ for various newsgroups and mail lists. Like Eudora, there are many of us that use Gmail and it handles top posts much better than bottom posts. Gmail hides original posts and includes a link to Show quoted text in its place. It makes scrolling much simpler.
Many lists have their preferred convention included in their etiquette or FAQ page, but Legacy does not state a preference <http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp>.
