These two responses made me think a bit! Exactly how are people adjusting the output? I can see how the original input can be configured slightly but unless I'm missing something that is it set forever. I also have a related formatting question - although you can update text quite easily has anyone figured out a way to bring in new additions to the tree? It is not too difficult if it is an entire branch but if they are scattered throughout the tree it seems you need to remember each addition (I had initially hoped that the whole point of the linked database was that it picked up changes to the data but alas not). According to the Treedraw description on the web site the data in Treedraw is linked to the Legacy file it came from and can be updated. Here is a quote:
" Treedraw Legacy maintains a link between each chart text element and the source field in the original Legacy family file. This means that you can update each text element automatically to mirror any changes in the original data. The tree link for each text element can also be modified manually. This is a powerful feature which gives you control over the content and format of the text in the chart."
Maybe you should check the Treedraw settings, options or preferences (I don't know what Treedraw calls them) to see if there is one to automatically refresh data that you may not have turned on. If that does not exist, check the menus for an update now option to get Treedraw to query the legacy file and get the new text.
If you do not find one or the other please report back because it would be a BIG argument against getting Treedraw. I don't want to have to recreate the trees from scratch every time I make a change to Legacy. That would be a big headache if I do a lot of customization of the layout by staggering branches of the family to condense the layout or by adding colours to lines etc.
