Shirley,

Unfortunately, there is no longer the opportunity to upgrade to the Deluxe
Edition of Legacy v5. Once a new build comes out, the previous build is no
longer supported, although we do continue to answer questions and assist
with troubleshooting, no more builds are available which would fix bugs in
the program nor is the program available for purchase any longer. We do
have the final build available on our website for those who need to
reinstall for some reason.

The file format change won't cause any problems nor will you even notice it.
It was done in preparation for release of Legacy v6.

Thanks for using Legacy.

Subject: [LegacyUG] V5 upgrade

I would appreciate some upgrade advice.

Although I have been doing genealogy for 50+ years and using a computer for
about 20 years, I am quite new to Legacy. I am using V5 Standard dated
April 2005 but the more I use Legacy the more I realize that I need to
upgrade to Deluxe.

After reading the messages about V6, I think I am not ready to try its
complexities until I have more experiece. That leaves me with upgrading to
V5 Deluxe. I am concerned about the change in file format that occurred in
the August build. What changes in my database will be visible to me in an
upgrade? Any problems that I might incur? My database has over 12000
individuals, and I really don't want to mess them up.
