I've never bothered with this. Since the other windows programs I
work with open the last folder used, I didn't expect Legacy to do
anything else.
But now you point it out, since there is a setting for the default
data folder, it shouldn't be changing this default and should always
open on the default folder you've set in Options > Customise. If not,
what's the point in setting it?

It is when I try to open a new file, I find that the folder opened isn't the
one I had in my default locations. I then have to open Options/Customise and
change it back again.
