This issue addresses a wish of mine for some time now. I have tried to
make an AKA for every name I have encountered for a person. This
includes mis-spellings in census records, mis-readings in transcription
or indexing, etc. I have done this in order to include the name in the
Name List for searching purposes.
The practice does create an ugly looking "Another name for Joe was ...."
sentence. Of course it gets very long because it includes many, many
names by which he was actually never "known".
It would be nice to include on the Add/Edit Alternate Name pane to be
able to have the option to (or not) "Include on Reports" as we do on
some parts of source definitions. (Make the default to include.) That
would take care of those of you who think the current way is "just
fine!" and accomodate those of us who would like to omit these AKAs from
reports.
Happy hunting, Don

Hi there,
My goal is NOT to print or display incorrect AKAs or dates in reports,
but to have them listed in my file so that I don't have to research
those names/dates again.
